A program of Panchakarma involves three parts:
1) Poorva Karma – Preparation of the subject
Consultation, diagnosis – the patient’s history pursuant to Ayurveda’s aim, diet recommendations according the needs of the own unique body, hygienic care, individual preparations based on herbs or oils. The subject is prepared so that the body and mind are "ripe" for detoxification and the complete elimination of the excess of Dosha’s energy.
It is the first phase based on a series of techniques soothing (Samana). These preliminary actions are meant to reduce and eliminate the greatest possible amount of toxins (Ama), strengthen the “digestive fire” (Agni), eliminate or mitigate the altered Dosha.
2) Panchakarma - the "five actions"
As well as the diet based on herbs, it continues the personalized therapies for the removal of the toxins and the excess energy of the Doshas from deep tissues within the digestive tract. These toxins and forces are then eliminated through five settled actions the most appropriate for each patient.
The five actions of Panchakarma are meant to eliminate the excess of toxins and the negative energies created by the vitiated Dosha. The effects of this main therapy of a complete purification will be those of rebuilding the vitality of the tissues, increase the power of digestion, support the health, nourish the nervous system, balance the mind and restore the clarity of the senses.
3) Rasayana - Rejuvenation
Once the body and mind are clean and clear, it's time to intervene on all tissues with the ideal nutrition in order to lengthen the well-being and the longevity. A personalized programme called Rasayana includes a nutrition plan, supplements based on herbs, therapeutic indications of self-care practices and lifestyle choices.
Panchakarma is meant to increase the healthy longevity, as well as to improve the ability to fill the own Dharma (sacred purpose of life) and enjoy all the pleasures of natural resources of life.
Panchakarma actually "presses the reset button" within body and mind, almost always being consider a true experience of "re-birth", when a person can experience what it means to be renewed in mind, body and spirit.
